The way of a horse's going is the truth of him.

The Daughters of Nafa'a

The daughters of Nafa'a are presented in the following flow charts.  Each one shows just the mares of each line that descend from Nafa'a and my interest lies in just those mares that are straight Egyptian. Indeed it may be that the mares presented here are all that remains. Of all her offspring, only Serenity Bint Nadia, imported to the United States by Serenity Farms, left traceable produce through the dam line. The other Nafa'a daughters were sold to the EAO Police or other local buyers and have left no traceable progeny. Many of Serenity Bint Nadia's daughters were sold to Count Federico Zichy-Thyssen and exported to Argentina.  I have included what I could find but without access to the various South American stud books, I do not know how many SE mares may be alive and in production today.

There may be straight Egyptian Nafa'a daughters that were never registered so have in effect been lost to the gene pool.

I have been able to find about 25 straight Egyptian Nafa'a mares of  production age in North America (under 20 years of age). The Serenity Kamila side of the Nafa'a family has the least number of representatives. Janet Flork owns Extremely Nice ("Peaches") and her daughter JF Kameerah.  Peaches  has produced four daughters and three sons and JF Kameerah produced a son in 2007. Peaches' dam Le Kameesha Amira recently joined the mares at Blue Pyramid. San Emira Farazdac was tragically lost in April of 2008 leaving only the older mares to carry on the Serenity Kamila legacy.

The straight Egyptian stallions in production in the USA with tail female lines through Cedardell Tiffany to Nafa'a are El Norus2 (book  closed) and the young Ibn Norus.  Dal Keraim, a 1981 stallion, is alive and, I am told, still producing in Canada.  Spring of 2007 JF Kameerah had a colt by Last Chance Too that Janet named JF Amir Ibn Kameerah, the first double Serenity Kamila foal ever foaled.  Peaches  had a colt by Chance spring of 2008 named JF Extreem Chance, the second double Serenity Kamila foal. Last Chance Too, JF Amir Ibn Kameerah, and now Extreem Chance are the only Serenity Kamila tail female stallions.  Serenity Taruf has Serenity Kamila in his top line through his sire Untouchable and has a line through Serenity Osiris in his dam line (but not tail female) to Serenity Bint Nadia. The Kuhaylan strain, represented by the Nafa'a progeny through her daughter Serenity Bint Nadia, is clearly one of the most rare straight Egyptian bloodlines in the world today.

Click each of the names below to view the mares in each of the different families.  The acronym NFO means No Female Offspring.

I have found a few pictures of the daughters of Nafa'a and their ancestors, the horses that formed the foundation of my breeding program. This is a very prepotent dam line. Click any name that is in blue and underlined to display a picture pedigree (bpe horses) or just a picture.

  2. Leila Gina

  3. Bint Kameesha

  4. Maar Jumana

  5. MFA Sabria

Bint Nafa'a and her daughter Negma Dawliyah, although most definitely Asil, were never used in Egypt so are not straight Egyptian. Nonetheless, I included their picture here because they are daughters of Nafa'a, the picture is a rare find, and they certainly carry "the look" of Nafa'a
